Bad news for all you Dolphins fans...Culpepper Injured
The Miami Dolphins have shut down Daunte Culpepper for the rest of the year, placing the quarterback on injured reserve.
On November 30, the three-time Pro Bowl quarterback underwent arthroscopic surgery to repair damaged cartilage in his right knee.
Culpepper, who turns 30 in January, appeared in just four games with the Dolphins this season before being sidelined with a shoulder injury.
The veteran looked shaky when he did play, throwing for 929 yards, two touchdowns and three interceptions while being sacked 21 times.
With Culpepper at the controls, Miami went just 1-3 and averaged fewer than 13 points. The Dolphins (6-7) have fared much better lately with backup Joey Harrington
who is 5-4 as the starter.
Culpepper underwent surgery to repair a torn ACL, MCL and PCL last November while with the Minnesota Vikings. That did not deter the Dolphins from acquiring Culpepper from the Vikings last March for a second-round pick.
In seven-plus seasons with Minnesota and Miami, Culpepper has 21,091 career passing yards and 137 TDs with 89 interceptions.
