Michael Vick involved in dog fighting ring?
Atlanta Falcons have insisted the news that quarterback Michael Vick has been indicted by a federal grand jury in connection with a dog fighting probe will not derail their pre-season plans.
I read on another NFL Football site that this could be part of an international dog fighting ring. Who's to say? I'm glad he was caught. Dumm shit.
Dog fighting is illegal throughout America and a felony in 48 states including Virginia.
Federal agents from the United States Department of Agriculture again searched the property owned by Vick in Smithfield, Virginia, on July 6
Agents seized nearly 70 live dogs, mostly pit bulls, on the land as well as dog carcasses. Investigators also found equipment commonly used in dog fighting.
Police had conducted a previous raid on April 25 as the property was part of a drug investigation that stemmed from the arrest of Vick's cousin, Davon Boddie, who claimed the residence as his house.
Police found dozens of mistreated dogs allegedly used for fighting. Vick had previously said that he rarely went to the house and did not know that a large kennel on the property could be involved in criminal activity.
This just brings bad press to the NFL and Football in general.
